I am very pleased with the purchase. This Garmin does everything intuitativly and accurately. Used it on recent trip to San Diego. Guided me accurately everywhere. Screen is bright in the sun and doesn't blind at night when it automatically shifts the display to dark mode. Bluetooth required to use cell phone in California and links easily with my cell phone. Traffic routed me around a 1 hour delay in LA just in time to get on alternate route. I will never be without GPS again. |

The garmin Quality Takes a Hit |
After noticing some issues with my beloved StreetPilot c580, I decided to purchase a new GPS. After much research (to the point where my wife was considering divorce), I settled on the 765T. It had the features I felt were an absolute must: bluetooth, text to speech, and traffic. So, I ordered the 765T. The positives: nice display, user-friendly interface, the GPS mount is an improvement over the streetpilot, and satellite lock is pretty fast (except for the initial power up). It took a while to pair the GPS to my phone (LG env touch), but after several tries I was able to link the GPS to the phone.
So what's bad? The touchscreen is AWFUL. If I select something in the lower left of the GPS, something else is selected (say, a menu item in the lower right). This happened all the time. It happened when I typed on the keyboard (entering an address, for example). This happened when I attempted to scroll and select an item, when I tried to go back to the main screen (and instead traffic was selected). A once or twice occurrence wouldn't be so bad. But all the time? It started to drive me nuts.
My other problem is the intermittent freezing when the GPS screen changes (from the map to main menu, or the traffic menus and back)
I wasn't able to test the junction view or reality view. I didn't have the unit long enough to try these features. Traffic? Well, i used my GTM-20 which has Navteq traffic and the clear channel traffic (TTN). The latter is superior. The traffic interface with the GPS is an improvement over the streetpilot.
I still hadn't given up hope, however, so I ordered another 765T. Different unit (trust me: the units crossed in the mail), same problems. Initially, this unit thought I was in Zimbabwe upon initial startup. It took a while to acquire the satellites and at least get the continent right. Beyond that, I had the same problems.
I finally gave up at this point and opted for the 1390T. That unit is okay. Not great, but okay. At nights I swear I can hear the StreetPilot c580 laughing at me in my closet.

It takes me right where I need to go everytime. For the price I paid you can't beat it. The bluetooth Is great for the hands free driving and the lane assignment is nice too. |

Well worth the money |

Very good driving directions, for those of you who are like I used to be and print out directions to everywhere you are going this will make life easier. 10 programmable waypoints, ability to search for local points of interest, hospitals are just a few things that make it great. I would recommend this to anyone. |

Works Great |
Very accurate. The traffic warning is quite good, but sometimes it does warn a little late.
The FM transmitter is not that good, but I just use a cassette adapter and that works great. |
